Saltwater Fishing Camps

Lead by Sensing Nature's professional biologists, educators, and certified Florida Master Naturalists.
- For ages 8 – 15
- Daytime Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- $225 per camper/week
- Before/After Care is Available 8:00 - 5:00; add $45 per camper/week
- Masks required indoors; no masks required outdoors unless social distancing is not maintained
Experience hands-on fishing and valuable instruction regarding saltwater fishes, their habitats, and various fishing techniques with the goal of creating a new “school” of responsible anglers. Most aspects of fishing are covered, ranging from fish identification and fish biology to basic boat navigation and ethical angling techniques. Campers are provided all the necessary fishing gear needed during camp activities.
Herpetology Camp

Ages: Children 7-11
$175.00 per camper/week, limited to 30 campers per week.
A science-based, hands-on nature day camp. Inquisitive children love this five-day nature camp where they explore the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles side by side with George Heinrich, a professional herpetologist. Through up-close encounters with a variety of animals such as gopher tortoises, frogs, lizards and snakes, campers learn about amphibian and reptile ecology and conservation.
Wildlife Ecology Camp

Ages: Children 7-11
$175.00 per camper/week, limited to 30 campers per week.
This summer camp is designed for children with a strong interest in nature. Campers will explore the ecology and conservation of Florida’s wildlife and wildlands. A blend of classroom and field sessions will include hands-on activities, guest presentations, and exploration of the preserve’s diverse habitats where campers will practice their nature detective skills.
Jr. Archaeologist Camp

9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Ages: Children 7-11
$175.00 per camper/week, limited to 20 campers per week. Before-camp care is available from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. for an additional fee ($50.00) each week.
This summer camp is designed for children with a strong interest in prehistory and history as well as in learning how early people interacted with their environment. Campers will learn about the importance of archaeology and will gain understanding about early natural resources that were necessary for life in the Tampa Bay region.
