Friends of Weedon Island, Inc.
The Friends of Weedon Island, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1992 to engage in the conservation and protection of the Weedon Island Preserve. The Friends hold annual membership meetings in May and bi-monthly board meetings at the Center.
The mission of the Friends of Weedon Island, Inc. is to promote the public's understanding of maintaining the Weedon Island Preserve as an important ecological and cultural resource. The Friends accomplish this mission by supporting programs, activities and projects that contribute to these ends.
The Friends of Weedon Island, Inc. remains dedicated to preservation and programs of the Weedon Island Preserve through a close working relationship with the Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources (PCR) to help sponsor key programs and events at the Preserve. The Friends of Weedon Island, Inc. is governed by Officers, an Executive Committee and Board of Directors, elected from the membership. Membership is available to all citizens and corporate sponsors who have an interest in working together for a common mission to preserve the history, cultural and environment of the Weedon Island Preserve.
