Volunteer Workshops
All volunteers are provided with regular training
about Weedon Island Preserve. In addition to basic
volunteer orientation, regularly scheduled workshops
are conducted specifically for volunteers, providing
hands-on activities and field explorations. Volunteer
training workshops are open to all new, current and
potential Environmental Lands Division volunteers. Special Opportunities
Several specialized workshops are offered
throughout the year to provide in-depth information
on a variety of topics. Topics are determined by requests
from volunteers and are sometimes seasonal in nature.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a potential
recruit, these programs are a fun and informational
look at the natural and cultural resources of Weedon
Island Preserve. Contact
us for current topics.
Volunteer Benefits
Besides the rewarding experience of meeting
and sharing experiences with visitors from all over
the world, volunteering at Weedon Island Preserve Cultural
and Natural History Center has many other benefits.
Volunteers are invited to participate in exclusive
programs and events such as specially guided canoe
trips and night hikes. It is our way of saying "Thank
You" to our dedicated volunteers. Contact our Assistant
Volunteer Site Coordinator to learn more about
upcoming volunteer appreciation programs.
Volunteer Appreciation
A few times each year, the Center and Division staff
host informal galas in honor of our volunteers.
Imagine an afternoon or evening of good food and
great company where volunteers gather to help us
recognize the extraordinary assistance provided through
our volunteer program. These days are for you! |
