"Weedon Island Preserve:
Connecting People and Place"
Six
galleries in this exhibit highlight the many aspects
of the history, ecology, and archaeology of Weedon
Island Preserve. Each gallery contains hidden worlds
and secrets that await discovery.
Completed in 2007,
cooperative funding for this project was provided by
the Surface Water Improvement and Management Program
and the Pinellas-Anclote River Basin Board of Southwest

Friends of Weedon Island, Inc., and the Pinellas
County Board of County Commissioners through the Penny
for Pinellas.
Weedon
Island Preserve Interpretative Trail

depended on the bounty of the Tampa Bay estuary for
their survival and livelihood. Explore the connections

Foundation's Pinellas County Environmental Fund, Southwest
Florida Water Management District, National Oceanic

that depicts the interaction of humans and nature
over time.
Funding for this exhibit was provided by the Southwest Florida
Water Management District.
